Dr. Gary James Beall (Dr. Chip)

Dr. Gary James Beall (Dr. Chip)

Veterinarian

Hobby: Being a dad

Born and raised in Springboro, this young man returned home after 10 plus years of higher education. Dr. Gary James Beall, better known now as Dr. Chip, joined his father, Dr. Gary Beall, at Springboro Veterinary Hospital in June 2018.

Dr. Chip is truly a hometown boy. He was born at Kettering Hospital and was brought home to his parents’ residence on the Historic South Main Street. He and his sister, Nicole, spent all 12 years in the Springboro school system. He credits his education in Springboro as helping him achieve his dream of being a veterinarian. He speaks fondly of the Springboro Schools, the teachers, and his coaches. It is one of the reasons he is returning.

Dr. Chip was active in football and wrestled 12 years for the Springboro Schools. He served as captain of both the football and the wrestling teams. He was a state wrestling qualifier for several years. According to Dr. Chip, wrestling taught him self-discipline and dedication, both of which helped him get through the rigorous and challenging years of veterinary school. “Veterinary school was demanding, extremely difficult, but to be at one of the top veterinary facilities in the world was extremely interesting. But more than that, it was an honor. I never took that for granted.”

After graduating from high school, Dr. Chip attended the University of Tennessee, where he earned a business degree in supply chain management and marketing. During his time at Tennessee, he knew deep in his soul he wanted to be a veterinarian. When he graduated from Tennessee, he began the long journey of taking science courses, allowing him the opportunity to apply for veterinary school. In 2014, he was accepted to The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, one of the top five veterinary schools in the country and one of the most competitive admission processes in the world.

Chip loves his family and his dog, Dusty, and is looking forward to raising his family in Springboro, Ohio.
